Our Mini Plush Lop Story

What Motivates Us
When we were setting up our herd we noticed that there was a really big difference between the bunnies that came from breeders who hand raise and expose the buns to dogs and children versus the bunnies that came from rabbitries where they had no interaction with pets and children.  We couldn’t find any rabbitries that didn’t use cages. (We are not judging breeders who use cages.).  We have responsible friends who are farmers who have hundreds of rabbits and we completely agree that cages are acceptable and safe for breeding).  However, we wanted to be a different kind of rabbitry - we wanted to experiment with being the only local rabbitry that didn’t use cages.  We did a lot of research and we were able to find other small rabbitries in the United States in which the breeders allowed the animals to free roam, indoors uncaged (except for quarantine).  Our goal was to provide a bunny that was very comfortable in the home setting and was familiar with pets, children and loud noises and being snuggled.  We choose the healthiest, gentlest babies to stay here and become future breeders.  This free-roam method takes a lot more effort and in part we failed.  Rabbits who aren’t fixed are territorial and so now we have a modified free-roam rabbitry.  We have to charge more because we put so much effort and time into our bunnies and we only do 4 breeding cycles per year.  It’s a full-time job 6-8 hrs per day, seven days a week).  Also, many people have allergies to pets. One of our children breaks out into rashes when he comes into contact with certain types of fur - that is part of the reason that we were motivated to raise mini plush lops. They are mostly hypoallergenic and they don’t shed, they molt twice a year!  As the first and only Mini Plush Lop Breeder in MA, RI, VT, ME and NH, it is really vital to us that we protect and maintain the standards of the breed.  With help from international breeders we have written a breed standard.  In an effort to be fully transparent, we do own 12 cages - they are necessary for quarantine (and a host of other reasons) but, most of them are attached to pens.  If you want to buy a rabbit in New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and New York) please email us at (LustersLops@gmail.com).
We also rescue and foster bunnies a couple times a year.  If you prefer to adopt a bunny rabbit from a rescue group, we are happy to give you a list of local rescues.  The rescue groups rarely have hypoallergenic rabbits and some families need a hypoallergenic rabbit which is the reason we breed them.

Please do all of your research as far as rabbit care is concerned prior to emailing us.

THE 2024 SPRING LITTERS ARRIVED and the WAITLIST IS OPEN (and we have some juniors available immediately)!

We apologize to those of you who have patiently waited but we now have a bunch of babies so everyone will be able to choose a bunny to love.  The "April" litters are still in their nestboxes but we can see a lot of beautiful colors.  If you already sent an email or spoke to us then you are on the waitlist.  If you haven't already communicated with us and you want to be on the waitlist for the April litters please just send an e-mail saying "April waitlist" and please write down your email address.  Our email address is - LustersLops@gmail.com.  Everyone on the waitlist will receive a document that covers all of the "Helpful Tips" so that you can start preparing for your bunny.  On April 30th we will start contacting everyone on the list so that they can choose their bunny (or bunnies).  A non-refundable $100 deposit is required and the balance is due at pick-up.  All bunnies come with a "Happiness Guarantee".  We tend to sell out very quickly since the Mini Plush Lops are a rare breed and they are the only hypoallergenc lop!

We care much more about quality than quantity so we only do four breeding sessions per year and we really limit the amount of bunnies we produce because we care a lot more about quality than quantity.  If you want two bunnies please do research about "bonding" bunnies.  Sometimes bunnies scuffle when they hit puberty so it may be necessary to get them fixed whether its two females or a male and a female. The most experienced breeders only guarantee gender with a 90% accuracy rate so we do our very best but their private parts are less than a millimeter in size at this age so we cant guarantee with 100% accuracy.

The bunny is only available if it says "available".  If a bunny says "reserved" then someone else has already put down a deposit.  If a bunny is
"pending for Lusters Lops" it means that we might keep the bunny.  A non-refundable $100 deposit is required.  We will then send you a document that includes helpful tips and as we get closer to the pickup date we will schedule pickup at your convenience in Walpole, MA or anywhere you choose within 20 miles or 30 minutes of Walpole.

ALL of the bunnies posted on this website are Happiness Guaranteed.  If for any reason you are not in love with your bunny after thirty days we will happily offer you an exchange.

We don't post any bunnies for sale that wouldn't be good pets.  They all undergo ESA and socialization training.  The Mini Plush Lops range from $450 +(very rare colors may be priced higher).  The Mini Lops and Holland Lops are  $350+ (retirees and juniors are discounted).  Please only email once you have decided to join the baby waitlist or you see an available bunny that you would like to reserve.

All bunnies are de-wormed prior to departing and are given a health exam performed by us.  We guarantee that they are healthy when they leave our property.

APRIL 2024 BABY Waitlist is open and we have some bunnies immediately available!

Spring 2024 litters were born last week!  We have many colors to choose from and we even will have a few Holland lops available!  If you want to join the waitlist for these litters please send an e-mail saying "April litters waitlist".  Thank you and don't forget to check out the Lusters Lops Facebook page to watch the babies grow each day in the videos.  On April 30th everyone on the waitlist can start choosing.  The photo is just a sample photo of one of our past litters.

Sunny - $300 AVAILABLE

Mini plush lop - female 4 months old

Sunny is a gorgeous purebred mini plush lop.  Her coloring is called "lilac fox".  In real life her fur is sooo soft and has a lovely sheen.  She is 4 months old and very sweet.  Her price is reduced since she it takes a few more days for the juniors to assimilate to their furever families.  Pet family only.  This bunny is not available for breeders.  She can leave as of April 21, 2024.

image_6487327 (92).JPG

Cali $300 AVAILABLE

Mini Plush Lop - 4 months old

Cali is a very sweet little girl.  She is a purebred mini plush lop and her color is called "harlequin".   Her price is reduced since it takes a few extra days for the juniors to assimilate.  She can leave as of April 21, 2024.  Pet family only - no breeder buyers please.

Cuphead $200 AVAILABLE 4/23/24

Mini Plush Lop retiring female

Cuphead is a 22-month old and she is retiring.  She's actually going to be a great-grandma soon!  We thank our grandmas by finding nice calm homes for them to live out their golden years so we'd prefer a home with no children under 13 years old.  Can she be trusted around children?  Yes but we feel she'd fit in best with adults.  She will let you pet her all day long.  She's potty trained too!  Pet home only.  She can leave as of April 23rd, 2024.

image_6487327 (90).JPG

Dezi $300 AVAILABLE

Mini Plush Lop - boy 4 months old

Dezi is a beautiful and sweet mini plush lop.  His fur is called "black torte" color.  In real life he looks like a teddy bear.  He loves being carried around and he is playful.  We like him so much that we want him to father a litter so we need to find a home for him within 20 miles of Walpole so that we can borrow him once for a couple hours during the summer.  He can leave as of April 19th, 2024.  Pet home only.  His price is reduced because it takes a few extra days for the juniors to adjust to their new homes.

image_6487327 (91).JPG

Lillii - $200 AVAILABLE 4/23/24

Mini Plush Lop - retiring female

Lillii is my personal "heart bunny".  She is a purebred mini plush lop with lilac otter coloring and she could not possibly be any gentler so whoever adopts this bunny hit the lottery.  She is 25 months old and she has been a fabulous mommy.  We have so many of her children and grandchildren so its time for her to retire and bond to her forever family.  Females who have successfully delivered kits have a greatly reduced chance of uterine cancer so that's another reason to adopt an adult female!

image_6487327 (95).JPG

Colossus - $200 AVAILABLE 4/23/24

Mini Plush Lop retiring female

Collosus is only 7 months old and she is retiring early since she had a rough time with her first litter.  She's a very small mini plush lop and her fur color is "sable agoutti".  She's a bit afraid of cages but we prefer for our bunnies to live in pens at their homes so hopefully that is not an issue.  Her price is reduced because it takes a little longer for the adults to adjust to their new homes.  She loves being carried around.  Since she's a retiring mom we prefer her to go to a home without young children if possible.  She can depart as of 4-23-2024.  Pet people only.

If you have a Facebook account please come follow the Lusters Lops page.  We post daily videos and photos of the litters so you can watch your baby grow from Day One!

Prices are for pet contracts only.  Breeders please refer to breeding section👍🏻.  Pricing is based on quality and type - not personality.  To reserve a bunny just email us and let us know your top two choices.  Once the deposit has been paid the bunny is reserved for you.  All of the bunnies are hand raised from Day One.  Import quality is more expensive because it cost more for us to import the parents.  If you want to contact Lusters Lops you can email us at “LustersLops@gmail.com” or go to our FB page and message us.  Our email recently changed.  Please make sure you are using GMAIL (not plain mail.com)💜🐰.  All pet bunnies come with a Happiness Guarantee.  If you are unhappy with your bunny for personality issues, we will exchange it free of charge*.*** Bunny must be healthy and we need a two-week notice.  We will work with you to pick a replacement based on availability.

Lusters Lops Rabbitry

How We Do Things

How It Works
Our Rabbitry is located in beautiful New England (Westwood, Massachusetts & New London, CT).  All bunny pickups are conducted in Walpole, MA unless otherwise agreed upon. We are happy to deliver to a public meeting place within 20 miles of Walpole, MA.  We raise our rabbits indoors.  If you adopt a kit (baby bunny) from us at 8 weeks old, the baby will be partially potty trained from watching the mom and dad using the litter box.  Since they are young they may make mistakes but we will help you with your set-up to ensure success!  We have a rescue dog who loves the bunnies so our babies are familiar with loud noises and big wet dog licks 🐶.
ADOPTION AGREEMENT
Each bunny is important to us since we put a lot of time and love into holding each of them from day one.  So, we reserve the right to cancel the adoption if we find that you can’t or won’t provide a suitable environment for your bunny (deposit will be refunded).  If you decide to adopt a bunny from Lusters Lops, you must read the Adoption Agreement.  Once you have paid the non-refundable $100 deposit and reserved a bunny then you have agreed to the “Adoption Agreement”.  The only case in which a deposit will be refunded is if your bunny becomes ill (thus far this has never happened).  If you later decide to cancel the agreement due to life circumstances, we cannot refund the deposit because we have spent a lot of time with each Adopter and the bunny was removed from the market.  Adopter may not switch bunnies once a bunny has been chosen.  We accept PayPal (only if you click on “Friends and Family” option)…..or Venmo.  It is very important to us that none of our bunnies end up in Rescue Centers or Humane Societies.  For this reason, if at any time you want to surrender the animal and you can’t find a suitable family, please return the bunny to us - no questions asked (no refund will be issued and Adopter will pay for any shipping costs).  All Lusters Lops bunnies are welcome to return to Lusters Lops at any point during his or her lifetime.  If gender is important to you please let us know because it is very difficult to identify the gender of young kits and at best we are about 90% correct.
Once you choose a rabbit please let us know.  We will email you a document called “Preparing for your Bunny” to make the transition easy.  When your bunny is 8 weeks old you can either pick up the bunny in Westwood or Walpole, Massachusetts or anywhere within 20 miles of Westwood, MA.  Remaining balance due on day of pickup.
PICKUP DAY.  Finally…..Some families will have been on the waiting list for months so this will be a very exciting day💜.  There is absolutely no need to buy a travel cab.  With your adoption you will receive-  1) a cardboard travel box which can be used at your house as a “hidey hole” 2) a bag of transition pellets. 3) a bag of Timothy Hay 4) a random toy  5) Directions For Use  6) a bag of compressed Alfalfa Hay and 7) a Happy, Confident, Loving, Healthy Bunny🐰

Lusters Lops

Breeders Only Read Please

As of May 14, 2023 we have a new policy.  In general we prefer to not sell MPLs to breeders (unless the rabbit is specifically brood or show stock) and we are happy to explain why.  This is one of the more difficult breeds to breed because it’s a “breed in progress”.  It’s much harder than just matching a buck to a doe……it requires studying photos, pairings, trends, structure, health, bone density, head shape, body length, conformity and heritage…..If you are an experienced mpl breeder please send a message because we also believe in sharing our best stock so that the breed improves over time.  We have nothing against breeders, we actually have a few mentees who have all different breeds!!!   The other reason that it would be counter-productive to sell to breeders is that we don’t want our bunnies to end up in cages.  We put a lot of effort into ESAs.  This is our full time job and passion.  We rarely use cages and if we do use cages they are attached to pens.  There’s nothing wrong with cages at all.  We just are breeding with one purpose.  To provide bunnies who are healthy and cute but most importantly they must make great pets.  To this end we literally hold every single baby at least twice a day.  We raise them with the family indoors, un-caged in hard bottom floors and we pre-potty train every baby!  As you can imagine, this takes a huge amount of time and effort.  To then sell a baby so it can go live in a cage would be counter intuitive.  Why potty train bunnies if they are going to live on wire bottom cages?  There’s another reason we decided to limit sales to breeders.  We accept deposits at a very young age so our ESA families can watch them grow in the daily videos.  Breeders should only sell their BEST quality to other breeders.  How can we determine type at 4 weeks of age?  We don’t want to sell sup-par type to a breeder and have our name attached to that bunny forever.  It wouldn’t be fair to us and we don’t want any MPLs out there with our name attached that are not superb quality.  If you are a mpl breeder and you absolutely really want something that we have just message Stephanie or Brie.  On a rare basis if we are extremely confident about type we may sell brood or show stock……Pedigree will no be provided unless agreed upon at purchase.  Most of our closest friends are breeders.  This is not to upset anyone.  This is just to explain our thinking.🐰🎉👍🏻🥁

List Of Items Needed

Minimum Necessary List
Timothy Hay is very important.  Pellets - boring looking is best.  A water bowl or crock.  A litter box- any type is fine.  Litter- pine equine pellets are best (Tractor Supply Store)
Enclosure- xpen or whatever you want that will provide bunny some space but not too much until she is fully trained.
Hidey Hole- some sort of wooden or cardboard box/house - just somewhere for bunny to sleep and hide👍🏻
Optional Items
Willow balls as a toy, a foraging mat, grass mats, cat scratch houses - they are soooo cute.
Don’t buy it all at once- in the beginning you just need the necessary items and as you get to know your bunny you can add toys and other fun items.  We will email you a document called “Preparing For Your Bunny”.  Oxbow is safe in general - scented items are dangerous.💕💜🐰

Items We Will Provide:
A bag of hay and a bag of pellets so you can transition smoothly, a cardboard travel box which turns into a Hidey Hole, a toy, a coop cup for pellets, a surprise toy and of course, a healthy, happy bunny(s) 🐰💜👍🏻.

ESA Pet Bunny click here

Lusters Lops© is the first and only rabbit breeder in the United States to develop and copyright a 5-part Emotional Support Animal Bunny Test*.  All tests, materials and published finishings are copyrighted and owned wholly by Lusters Lops, Inc.  Written permission is needed to reproduce these materials and statistical findings.*  (In tandem with a licensed psychologist who prefers to be our ”silent partner”).
One of the owners suffered from depression and anxiety for many years.  Now she doesn’t need anti-depressants and she thanks the rabbits for that (and some great therapists).  We completely understand the importance of getting the right ESA.  Please tell us which mental I’ll eases are affecting your life.  We are very confidential and bound by HIPAA laws), we will help match you with the calmest most affectionate bunny possible.  If you suffer from PTSD a bunny can be a great pet because they never make loud or unexpected noises.  In the fall of last year we had a gentleman contact us who came back from Iraq and had severe PTSD .  He explained that he wanted a bunny because he was sure there would be no sudden noises.  He also was worried about instantaneous movements so we paired him up with a slightly older bunny who was more sedentary.  He regularly sends us photos and updates us and so far things are going very well .
Depression and anxiety are other mental illnesses that can be alleviated by the company of an ESA bunny.  We do “bunny personality tests”, then we determine which bunnies are ESA candidates.  If you feel you need an Emotional Support Animal we can also provide a licensed signed “Letter of Support” and an ADA card explaining your rights.  Depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder are all afflictions that can be more easily managed with a pet rabbit.  There have been many studies proving that animals help ease these emotional afflictions.  In Jan, 2020 we started working with a psychologist who helped us formulate a “5-part ESA bunny test”.  (She actually adopted an ESA from us and she continues to help us be the first bunny breeder in the US with an ESA bunny test.)
ESA is our focus and we are very proud to be the first rabbit breeder in the USA with custom ESAs.
It’s difficult to explain a “custom ESA” so I’ll just provide example .  Last winter a NJ woman contacted us - she was depressed because her son was wheelchair-bound after being hit by a drunk driver.  At the time they had no pets.  We knew we had a daunting task ahead of us.  We had to train a bunny who would be familiar with a wheelchair.  The woman also explained that she works from home and she generally sits on the couch typing on her computer.  Luckily for us in this case we were told that we would be able to choose which bunny was most suitable.  At the time we had two large litters so when the bunnies were about six weeks old (and we completed their ESA tests) we chose a mini plush lop who was very calm and had scored high on her tests.  We spent the next four weeks making sure that at least two times per day we held the bunny while we were on the couch typing.  We don’t have a wheelchair in the house but we do have a chair that has wheels at the bottom.  On a daily basis we sat down with the bunny on our rolling chair and wheeled around the kitchen to make sure that the bunny was comfortable with that sort of movement.   Occasionally we videotaped the training so that the Adopter would feel confident and secure in her choice.
These are just some examples and it’s very time-consuming which is part of the reason that we only do four breeding cycles per year.   If you’d like to discuss your ESA needs we are more than happy to, please email “LustersLops@gmail.com” for more info.  We guarantee your confidentiality.  Serious inquiries only.

Some of our Lops

Here are some of our parents and some photos of babies that were born here.  Our baby bunnies are far more than a business to us - they’re family.  In breeding terns we are called “Preservation Breeders” which means that we accept responsibility for every single bunny that is bred in our rabbitry.  None of our bunnies have ever been in Humane Societies or Rescue Facilities.  Any bunny bred by us is welcome to return if necessary.  We breed responsibly and pay special attention to minimizing the known hereditary diseases by having all our parent animals health tested by a certified vet..  Here are pics of some of our parents and some babies we’ve produced!

Mighty

Lusters Lops’ Mighty was from our original mpl line!  He’s a Sablepoint and he’s a very sweet playful young ladies man!  His fur is extremely dense, he has a nice wide crown, great ears and he’s very small!  His first babies will be mid-2023!

Untitled

Bat-Man

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I rescue a bunny instead of buying one?
Sure.  We are happy to put you in touch with local rescue groups.  During the late 90s one of the partners volunteered at a rescue/kill shelter for dogs.  We definitely understand the importance of rescuing animals.  All of our dogs have been rescued as adults.  We actively foster animals each year too.  Morally, we vacillate as to whether breeding animals is acceptable which is the reason that we are “Preservation Breeders”, we accept responsibility for ALL of the bunnies who were born at our rabbitry.  Should any Furever Family encounter a life situation which causes them the desire to surrender their bunny, we gladly accept the bunny back into our rabbitry - no questions asked.  We only request that the bunny be in good health and that we are notified two weeks in advance so that we can organize a pen for the bunny.  Our goal is that NONE of our bunnies ever take up much needed space in a shelter.  We also donate 10% of our net profit to our local wildlife rescue group.
Should I get 1 bunny or 2?
We have lots of families that have one single bunny and they are thriving.  It is definitely ok to have just one bunny.  There are lots of benefits to singletons.  They don’t need to cover each other’s smells, there is no competition, they get all of their affection from their humans……and it’s the Owners choice whether to spay or neuter.
We also have multiple families with 2 or more bunnies.  It is possible to “bond” rabbits but you need to plan carefully and you’ll probably need to fix at least one of the bunnies and possibly both. If you already have a rabbit, let us know and we will help you pick a bunny who has the highest chance of successfully bonding.  If you don’t have any rabbits and you have your heart set on two, we advise adopting 2 girls who are the same age so that they can grow up together OR, a girl and a boy who are both young (with an agreement to fix the boy at minimum).   We don’t advise adopting two bucks.  At maturity they will scuffle and even if you fix both of them, there’s no guarantee of success. If you want two bunnies you fully understand that there is a very big possibility that they will need to be fixed and bonded.  This means that they will need to be kept separate until 8-10 weeks post surgery. We are reticent to allow people to adopt two because we don’t want one to be returned at 4 months old when they scuffle so, if you have your heart set on two, pre-plan the appointment and budget for fixing them and prepare two separate pens.
Should I rescue a bunny?
Sure.  The House Rabbit Network in Woburn, MA has bunnies and you might even be able to adopt a bonded pair!  If you have allergies though, it will be difficult for you to find a hypoallergenic bunny in a rescue and we specialize in hypoallergenic lops.  Visit a rescue and spend time with the bunny before committing.  We donate money to a wildlife rescue and years ago we volunteered at a kill shelter.  For this reason we never ever want any of our bunnies to take a much needed space at a rescue.  If you can no longer take care of your bunny you can return her to us (as long as she is healthy and we have a 2-week timeframe to plan out a pen).

Breeder Directory

(as of early 2022)

NOTE - If you are a dedicated plush lop breeder and you would like to add your name to this list just email us or contact Lusters Lops on FB or Mini Plush Lops USA on FB and we will happily add you.  With so many breeders starting and quitting its very difficult to keep up with the list so please understand we are doing our best to serve the whole mini plush lop/plush lop community.

This list will be updated bi-annually and the next update is Summer 2024.
******On a weekly basis we receive a couple emails asking for MPL breeders throughout the world.  It takes us time each day to put the buyers in contact with the breeders so we thought it would be more “time-efficient” to just make a list of mpl breeders.  There ARE other good, reliable mpl breeders who are not on this list too.  We do not claim any legal responsibility for any  breeders on this list.  This list gets updated about once a year and we do not have the time to verify each breeder so we hold no legal responsibility towards this referral list.  This is a MPL list only.  If you need a Holland lop please email us because there are just too many Holland Breeders to list.

As of May, 2022 we are still working on compiling the information and we have not update it in many months so many good people aren’t on the list just because we are working on creating it.  Please message or email us if you’d like to be added (LustersLops@gmail.com).
If you are looking for an English Angora Breeder or a French Lop breeder we can refer you to a respected rabbitry near you.

If you don’t live near New England we are happy to point you in the right direction.  There are many great MPL breeders in the USA and worldwide.  Since 2019 we have been compiling a list of good MPL breeders.  The list is refreshed bi-annually in January.  Additionally, if you need a French lop or a Rex or a Conti or an Netherland Dwarf or an English Angora or a mini satin rabbit, we have friends worldwide and we are happy to refer you.  Just email us at LustersLops@gmail.com and we will find any breed that you want.

Satin Mini Plush Lops aka "Fire Luxe Lops"

A breed co-developed by partners

Lusters Lops & Capella Farm

Creating the Fire Luxe Lops - a small satinized rex/plush "Luxe" furred lop bunny

I had three lifelong bunny related dreams*.  One was to make a giant rex-furred lop (because there are no lops bigger then French Lops).  The other dream was to make a shiny lop because I had lops as a child and a friend had a satin rabbit.  Shockingly, there are no ARBA recognized satin lops!  The original thought was to make a Holland lop with a satin coat but as I fell in love with the Mini Plush Lop breed (and allergies were a family issue), my new dream became the idea of making a small satin-rex-plush furred lop.  As the years went by and we were breeding Holland Lops, Mini Lops and Mini Plush Lops, we decided to try to start creating satinized mini plush lops.  This type of project easily could have taken 15-20 years.  Over the last four years we have workd with our partner, Capella Farm, and between us we mixed five breeds and have been co-developing the first satinized rex plush lops (aka Fire Luxe Lops.  Thankfully we were able to import a few rounds of beautiful bunnies over the last few years from Christine Toyer (Malvina Lakes Plush Lops).  (She had some satinized mini plush lops descending from English and German heritage.)  The addition of her rabbits saved us at least ten years.  We now have spent the last four years working fulltime on this projects.  As of February 2024 we completed Phase I and have successfully bred up to the F5 (fifth) generation.  We are very excited to be the first team to produce satin rex lops (luxe furred lops) in the US (and we are very grateful to the Europeans who supported us) and as soon as our foundation herd is fully established and the lines are set and the type is adequate we hope to share our breed with other breeders.  It was a lot of work and extremely costly but since it was a lifelong dream it was worth it!

We are now proud to say we co-developed the first satin-rex-plush furred lops in the USA along with our partner - Capella Farm from Florida.

The new breed we co-created will be called "Fire Luxe Lops"*.

This new class of fur we have been developing is called "Luxe fur".  It is very similiar to satinized rex fur with some modifications.   More information to be posted soon!  Stay tuned.

*The 3rd lifelong bunny related dream is hopefully to be realized mid 2024! Its called "Project NY" and we are extremely excited about it.  We were asked to participate in this project in May of 2023 and due to the time constraints we will be pausing breeding approximately May 2024 for a couple months!

*Note - we couldn't name the breed "satin mini plush lops" because satin is a dq for a mpl in Europe.  We couldnt use the nickname "reza mini plush lop" because the nickname "reza" defines a bunny who is 1/2 a rex and 1/2 a satin rabbit as per the fb group called reza: a satinized rex.  We thought long and hard and asked for advice from people in multiple countries who had a lot of experience with satin-rex-plush fur and as a group it was decided that "Luxe fur" would define rabbits who have satin rex plush fur.  Since there are no official breeds with this class of fur in the USA as of Feb 1, 2024 we decided to call it "Luxe" fur.
